Bob Gallarza‚Äôs extensive musical experience is almost overwhelming. In the late 60‚Äôs, Bob freelanced, performing at all of the popular night spots in Hollywood. His soulful and aggressive sound immediately gained popularity and music greats like Ike and Tina Turner, Delany and Bonnie Bramlett, Al Wilson, many other artists and studio musicians took notice of his exceptional talent. Success quickly followed Bob Gallarza when the multi-Grammy Award winning group, The Fifth Dimension, heard of Bob‚Äôs many talents and immediately invited him to join them. For the next fifteen years, Bob Gallarza toured all over the World performing for the most prestigious audiences. This included rare performances behind The Iron Curtain, European Royalty, The White House, Las Vegas and numerous other events. As lead guitarist, Bob, has had the pleasure of working with some of the most distinguished artist in our history including, Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Sammy Davis Jr., The Fifth Dimension, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., Sister Sledge, James Brown, Neil Sedaka, Willie Nelson, Al Wilson and many other artists and studio musicians. Bob also performed on Broadway and appeared on numerous television shows such as The Johnny Carson Show, The Today Show, Merv Griffin Show, Mike Douglas Show, Dick Clark Show, Jerry Lewis Telethon, Don Kirshner, Midnight Special, Marilyn and Billy Summer Show and The Sonny & Cher Show.
Malo’s 1972 Top 20 hit single, “Suavecito,” was written by timbale player Richard Bean, who initially wrote it as a poem for a girl in his high school algebra class. The song has been called “The Chicano National Anthem” and was arranged for Malo by Richard Bean, bassist Pablo Tellez, and Abel Zarate. Tellez and Zarate also received co-author credits on “Suavecito”. Guitarist Abel Zarate gave Malo a distinctive two-guitar sound with intricate harmony and dual solos the norm.
Grupo Vida has been touring the Tejano market for more than ten years dominating Tejano music with more than 6 Show Band of the year awards and numerous others like Guitar player of the year and Drummer of the year. Grupo Vida has always had a love for country music and had the privilege to tour with major acts such as The Dixie Chics , Clay walker , She Daisy and many others. In 2006 they decided to put out their first all country cd under the name The Electric Cowboys, the cd is entitled Prisoner of the Honky Tonk. It is doing great for them as they are making waves all over as an all Hispanic group headlining shows in all country clubs.
